Age: 31 years old
Came to Unity Housing Support: November 2021 - Left June 2022
S.W Was homeless and was suffering with Anxiety and Depression when he was referred to Unity Housing Support, he also suffered with an addiction to narcotics.

S.W was not ready to address his Anxiety and Depression with a counsellor. He has difficulties of trust opening up to those he considered strangers and as such had always had limited progress on this long term health difficulty.

S.W’s HSO through dedication and a strong professional approach managed to engage S.W in conversations around his mental health along with his use of drugs. With this support, S.W was able to decide to stop smoking the drugs for himself. As soon as S.W made this decision, his support needs dissipated very fast and he was ready to move on.

We supported and guided S.W to look for work and a property for independent living as soon as he felt and demonstrated that he was ready for this.

S.W was with us for seven months. By the time he left us he had a full time job, a property secured to move into and had been clean for 3 months. Whilst S.W could have stayed with us for longer if needed, he was motivated to get on with his life and to make the most of his new outlook.
